One of the things you see in this blog site and others are embedded YouTube videos. I try to make mine start and stop at specific points and then loop automatically so you can simply let it run if you want to. I do not automatically start them because I want you to control when to start as there might be multiple embedded videos per page.
What if you want to pause, start, re-wind or change the speed of the video? Luckily there are some easy, documented key-board shorts cuts to let you very closely control your viewing experience.

The blog post 30+ Short-Cuts by Karrar Haider explains these short-cuts in even more detail.
I do mute the videos I embed. Simply un-mute them by clicking in the lower-left corner next to the play/pause button or by pressing M.
If you want to change the speed of the video you can click on the gear/Settings in the lower-right corner and change the ‘Playback Speed’ or by pressing the < > keys. You can go down to .25 which allows very granular control when trying to start/stop.
I left the ‘Full Screen’ button in the lower right-hand corner enabled. You can click on that to go ‘Full Screen’ or use the F key.
If you want to open the video in a separate tab click on the title in the top left corner.
Please reach out if you have others ways to make the YouTube video watching experience better and I will include them here.
